We will Operate a CJ2 about 300 hours per year and are trying to evaluate engine, parts and maintence. Is TAP really a money saver or just an expensive insurance policy? Same with Cescom and Pro Parts. Chime in.
thanks

I believe TAP, PROPARTS,etc depends on how long you plan to own the aircraft, and how lucky do you feel. The aircraft I manage are long term owners and I would not recommend not having TAP, Proparts, ESP, or Proadvantage as appropriate. Price some replacement Collins or Honeywell parts or a turbine disc and you will see why I think the coverage is a good deal.

I agree with RORO, I would at least do TAP on the engines. Engine expenses for a scheduled or UNSCHEDULED event can set the owner back into his chair if not prepared.

Proparts is also good but you need to look at the items that are not covered (avionics etc.) as well as do you have your own maintenance or do you have someone managing the maintenance for you. This pays a roll in the ProParts decission process.

If you have any questions I have been involved in all the Cessna Programs as well as TAP and ESP (Pratt).

Regards,

Mike
