Hi everybody,
I've a question regarding the gear. Do we have to stop wheels spinning by using brakes prior gear retraction? Someone told me that wheels were automaticly braked during gear retraction but I didn't find anything mentioning it in C550 pilot documentation.
Any clue?
Thanks.

Will,

The 500 and 550 series aircraft do not have a wheel snubber system installed. So if you want to make sure you do not have any wheel rotation when they go into the wheel wells you must tap the brakes prior to retraction. Cessna did not install a wheel snubber until the 650 series of aircraft.

Regards,

Mike
